UMMS receives largest alumni donation in school history to support ALS, neuroscience research
A grateful alumna and her husband, Diane M. (Casey) Riccio, PhD, GSBS ’03 and Dan Riccio, of Los Gatos, Calif., have pledged $2 million to UMass Medical School to advance amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and neuroscience research. 
GSBS student Ciearra Smith awarded Neuroscience Scholars fellowship
The Society for Neuroscience has named Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences student Ciearra Smith a Neuroscience Scholar. One of only 15 students nationwide selected for the prestigious fellowship, Smith is researching genetic underpinnings of nicotine dependence and withdrawal in the lab of Paul Gardner, PhD.
