Dear UMMS Alumnus,
The University of Massachusetts Medical School Alumni Association (UMMSAA) will present its first Distinguished Alumnus Service Award during Reunion 2017. This honor is of the alumni, by the alumni, and for the alumni! Please help identify excellent nominees.
With the Distinguished Alumnus Service Award, the UMMSAA seeks to recognize an alumnus with outstanding career achievements that embody one or more of the characteristics noted in the UMMS Mission, Values and Vision. These are: to advance the health and wellbeing of the people of the Commonwealth and/or the world through pioneering advances in education, research and health care delivery. The UMMSAA supports and salutes such advancement in innovative and culturally sensitive clinical care, service, teaching and biomedical research.
Now is your chance to honor your fellow alumni by nominating them for the Distinguished Alumnus Service Award. Think of those who mentored you in your residency or inspired you with their research, including classmates respected for extraordinary contributions to medicine through an unusual career path.
Nominations will be held in strictest confidence. A complete nomination includes the Nomination Form and Nominee's Professional Summary (curriculum vitae, professional achievements relevant to criteria for award). The FY17 nomination deadline is November 30, 2016. Nominations submitted after this date will be held for consideration in FY18 (July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018). For more information on award criteria please visit alumni.umassmed.edu/criteria.
The Alumni Board looks forward to hearing from you and to presenting this special award.
